A great alternative breakfast

This is a very tasty Granola which is also very low sugar. This recipe has almonds in it so it is Not Nut FREE!!!
To make nut free just add 40g coconut instead of the nuts and use coconut oil instead of the margarine. It is a very tasty Granola too.


1tbsp margarine
1tbsp oil(sunflower, vegetable or coconut)
3tbsp honey or agave syrup
150g gluten free oats
25g gluten and wheat free plain flour
11/2tbsp milled flaxseed ( lots of omega 3)
50g whole almonds chopped or desiccated coconut
40g dried cranberries chopped
8 dates chopped


Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees fan.
Place a small saucepan on a medium heat and add the margarine, oil and honey. when the margarine is melted mix well and leave to one side.
Put all the dry ingredients into a large bowl and mix to combine then, pour the wet mixture over the dry and use your hands to mix and make sure everything gets coated with the honey and margarine.
Pour this into a heatproof dish and place in the oven for 15 minutes. Half way through take it out and mix with a spoon so everything gets nice and toasted.
We like our Granola with pureed fruit( whatever is in the bowl) natural soya yogurt YUM!YUM!
