Prawn curry

This is the lunch my 10 year old (Jack) cooked for us on Mother’s Day It was so yum I had to share it with you. I hope you all enjoy it as much as I did.


2tbsp sunflower oil/ coconut oil
1 onion chopped small
1/2 tsp cumin
1/2 tsp coriander
1tsp turmeric
1/2 tsp fenugreek
1tsp garam masala
2 inch of ginger, 2 garlic cloves 1 green chilli and 1/2 tin of tomatoes all blitzed together to make a paste
1/2 red pepper chopped
1/2 yellow pepper chopped
500g fresh prawns shelled
Juice of 1 lime
250ml dairy free cream soya or coconut
240g basmati rice
1tsp turmeric mixed with 1tbsp water


1. Rinse the rice in cold water to remove some of the starch. Then put the rice on to cook with the turmeric as by the instructions on the bag.
2. Put on a pan add the oil and the onion cook it for 4 minutes then, add the cumin, coriander, turmeric, fenugreek and garam masala cook for 2 minutes.
3. Add the tomato paste cook for 5 minutes then, add the peppers, prawns and lime juice cook for about 8 minutes till the prawns cook. Pour in the cream and let it heat.
Serve with some fresh chopped coriander and enjoy xx
